Kauani
Kauani, meaning “to bloom” in Nahuatl, is a collaborative project by Madrid-based product designer Inés Llasera and Mexican textile designer Inés Quezada. Together, they merge their disciplines to create unique textile objects, focusing primarily on knitted lighting designs inspired by botanical elements.
Since its inception, Kauani has developed projects of various scales, from large-scale spatial installations to collections of domestic lighting. In 2021, they debuted their prototypes at the Madrid Design Festival, and their work has since been showcased at prestigious venues such as Maison & Objet in Paris, the CCCC Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània in Valencia, Moneo Brock Gallery in Madrid, and Fundación Casa de México in Spain, where their exhibition “Kauani: Al sol de los frutos” received critical acclaim.
With this new collection, Kauani begins its collaboration with AGO Projects, bringing its vision to an international audience. Their work has been featured in renowned publications, including AD, Arquitectura y Diseño, Diseño Interior, VOGUE, Elle Decor, Design Boom, Manera, and El País Semanal, reinforcing their position in contemporary design.
