Ries Estudio
Marcos Altgelt and Tasio Picollo create works through a dialogue between industry and craftsmanship, constructing narratives of territorial identity through material experimentation.
The studio’s practice moves fluidly between the development of serially produced objects and the creation of limited-edition pieces. This broad range of scales demands distinct approaches—systematic and precise, intuitive and imperfect—that coexist within a unique design language.
That language is shaped by the diversity of landscapes, the active observation of urban environments, direct engagement with local materials and knowledge, the reinterpretation of historical references, and a commitment to uncovering value in what often goes unnoticed or forgotten.
Their work has been exhibited at the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA), the Biennial Pavilion in São Paulo, and with galleries including Verso in New York, Holder in Copenhagen and Berlin, Chamber in Venice, Philia in Tel Aviv, Mexico City, and the Dominican Republic, and Fracas in Brussels. Their work has also been featured in leading international publications such as The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Vogue, and Wallpaper, among others.
