Alba Maria
Alba Maria Studio, founded by Alba Maria Faggionato, is a design stu- dio and brand based in Italy and Mexico. Alba’s upbringing in Lon- don, together with her Austrian and Italian heritage, contributes to a unique and playful style that defines the studio’s aesthetic. Alba’s edu- cational background includes training in industrial design at Parsons School of Design in New York, where she earned a BFA in 2019.
During her time at Parsons, Alba gained valuable experience in the field of glassworking while working with the renowned Venetian glass- ware brand Laguna B. This collaboration resulted in the production of the brand’s Murano glassware collections. In 2020, Alba made a move to Mexico City to work for AGO Projects, a design gallery known for its eccentric style and work ethos. Inspired by this experience, Alba decided to establish her own brand in 2021.
Alba Maria Studio specializes in the design and production of origi- nal, handcrafted homeware and accessories. The studio’s approach is characterized by a collaborative production process, involving skilled artisans in weaving, fusing, casting, and glass blowing. Alba Maria Faggionato’s focus is on showcasing the rich traditions of both Italy and Mexico through meaningful partnerships with skilled craftsmen. The brand distinguishes itself through a commitment to craftsman- ship, pushing cultural traditions into a contemporary space through thoughtful considerations of form, function, and color.
