AGO Projects @ FOG Design + Art 2024 | Booth 214
Welcome to a swinging Polanco apartment in 2024. Ago Projects has been working since its founding on developing upholstered furniture that feels fresh and contemporary with the Guadalajara-based French designer Fabien Cappello. After many years of development (from the structure to the textiles) it is finally ready and we would like to launch the collection at FOG.
We will present an immersive sitting room anchored by Fabien’s upholstered chairs and chaise lounge, as well as his glass, tin, and wicker lamps and glass mosaic cabinet and coffee tables. Hanging from the “ceiling” hang a series of new Capello colored glass and brass lanterns which are based on traditional smaller-scale boxes of the same technique. On the richly colored walls hang photographs by the important Mexican photographer Yvonne Venegas, this series is actually society photographs taken by her father in Tijuana in the 1970s that she is appropriating and re-contextualizing as artwork.
The “room” would be further enlivened by ceramics by Myungjin Kim, Natalia Tannenbaum, and Taller Los Tepalcates, all designers from the gallery’s program.
